From picnic to pub

We were supposed to meet Aunty Claresy and cousin Finbar and all their London mates in St James's park for a picnic, but the forecast was for rain and hail. The answer? The same for every problem one faces in Ol' Blighty: the pub. This one was near Waterloo station, which prompted Mum and Dad to break into song, with dance moves to match. ABBA. I was so embarrassed.

The forecast had that touch of English pessimism, of course, as the sun was shining. 'Do you see the light?' Yes, and it's telling Dad to drink Paul's beer.

It was great to see Finn; he's gotten a lot bigger (and Mum reckons cuter) since I last saw him. Nice one Aunty Claresy!

Although he got a bit upset when I decided to eat his Mum's finger. Whack!

I am, as Jules Fish would say, 'orally fixated'. Everything goes in the mouth, although the menu is changing. I'm now partial to a nose lick. Mum and Dad confirm it's as awful as it sounds.

Some other friends also came to the pub - Aunty Nattie, Aunty Lozza and my mate Noah. Aunty Nat lives in London now, and Mum and Loz really loved hanging out with her.

We also met Aunty Nattie's new girlfriend Sab (lovely!), and went out with them for a coffee before returning to the flat to pack up our stuff. Mum and Dad have gone shopping crazy so it was a challenge to get it all in the bags. I really don't know how they are going to carry it all. I'm getting worried about my place in the pram so plan to enjoy it while it lasts.

It's hard to believe we have been in fantastic London for nearly a week! We are off to Cambridge tomorrow, then France.

Love to all,
Lewis
